University of the Middle East Project : ウィキペディア英語版 | University of the Middle East Project
University of the Middle East Project (UME) is an independent non-governmental organization whose people-to-people exchange programs bring together secondary school educators from across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and the United States with the aim of enhancing pedagogical skills and encouraging cross-cultural dialogue and understanding. In the United States, UME is an 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, registered as The Center for Higher Education in the Middle East, Inc. ==History== The University of the Middle East Project was founded in 1997 by a group of graduate students from the Middle East and North Africa who were studying at universities around Boston, including MIT, Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, Boston College, and The Fletcher School at Tufts. Initially, the group's goal was to build a physical campus in the Middle East which would welcome students from all across the region. However, the strategic focus in more recent years has been on cultivating excellence among teachers and in MENA school systems.
